Sam Hunt

Sam Hunt is an American country music singer and songwriter. He has won several awards throughout his career, including the Nashville Songwriters Association International Award for Songwriter/Artist of the Year, the iHeart Music Award for Best New Country Artist and a Billboard Music Award for Top Country Song. Hunt has sold over 4 million records worldwide.

Born in Cedartown, Georgia, to parents Allen and Joan Hunt, the singer excelled at football and played as a quarterback for the University of Alabama at Birmingham. However, after his peers heard some of the songs he had written, they convinced him to perform in local bars, and he quickly made a name for himself. During this time, he realized his love for music, and instead of playing professional football, Hunt chose to pursue a career in the entertainment field.

After college, Hunt relocated to Nashville, Tennessee, where he worked as a songwriter for several years. MCA Nashville signed him in 2014, with whom he released a four-song EP called X2C, which went to number 36 on the Billboard 200 charts. His first studio album reached number one on the Billboard Top Country Charts and number three on the Billboard Top 200 charts. Hunt has had seven number-one hit singles, including, “Leave on the Night,” “Take Your Time” and “House Party.” Hunt lives in Nashville with his wife and daughter.
